Guardian Word of the Week: Savor

How often do you rush through your day, completely taking for granted all the little things that contribute to your well-being?

I sometimes catch myself so much “in my head” that I’m not truly present to enjoy—to savor— the moments of enjoyment that exist throughout every single day.

Things like a nice cup of tea, stepping into a hot shower, watching a bird fly by…are ideas of your own starting to come into your mind?

This week, let’s start  practice of intentionally savoring something at least once an hour.

These moments of savoring don’t have to take long—just come completely into the present and allow yourself to feel complete enjoyment for a minute or two. (Even several seconds counts!)

It might help to start a list of things to savor. The more you intentionally savor, the more new things you’ll discover to savor!
