Guardian Word of the Week: Reset

A circle of beautiful trees.

This week marks the one-year anniversary of our weekly Guardian Words!

I want to thank you for tuning into the supportive energy of these words with me, and I also want to give a warm welcome to newcomers to our Guardian Gateway community.

To celebrate this milestone, starting this week we will pair our Guardian Words with a Guardian or Ally who can partner with us as we bring each word into our lives and into our beings.

This week's word is Reset.

It came to me when I was watching a show on TV and I heard a man say when everything felt overwhelming to him he went out in the garage and worked on his car, and that helped him to reset.

How do you reset when you are feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated?

I tend to retreat to a comfy chair to watch something good on TV (no surprise!). After a while, I'm feeling balanced and centered again. (This often includes eating while watching which can be its own problem though, can you relate?)

This week, let's practice a type of “resetting” we can do anywhere.

Close your eyes if it's safe, and drop energetic roots down into the earth. Feel the love and support of the Earth flowing up through the roots and filling your body.

Now become aware that you are in the center of a circle of Guardian Trees.

Open your heart to their presence as you say:

How do you feel now?

Continue to feel love flowing into you from the Earth as you engage with the energy of resetting to a centered, balanced, empowered state:

Now thank the circle of Guardian Trees as you feel their supportive energy behind you, to each side, and in front of you.

Consider practicing this three times a day this week and let me know how it feels for you!
